On the afternoon of September 20, in Huong Khe district, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper recorded that the rain had stopped. Water upstream had also gradually receded.

A leader of Huong Khe district also informed that due to the rain stopping, along with the Ho Ho Hydropower Plant regulating the spillway discharge from 800m3/s in the morning, now reduced to more than 200m3/s, the upstream water has receded, some localized flooding points in upstream communes such as Huong Do, Huong Trach, Phuc Trach, Loc Yen... the water has receded and traffic is normal.

In some downstream communes, the water level rises slowly. With the rain stopping and Ho Ho hydropower plant releasing low levels, there is no longer any concern about flooding.

Earlier in the morning, due to concerns about heavy rain and flooding, the education sector in Huong Khe district had given more than 11,000 students a day off. In Huong Son district, there was also heavy rain, and some schools in low-lying areas also gave about 800 students a day off.

On the morning of September 20, on National Highway 15, through Ha Linh commune, there was a landslide, some soil fell onto the road but did not cause traffic congestion.

On National Highway 8, the section passing through Son Kim 1 commune also had a slight landslide. Afterwards, the authorities cleared the dirt and rocks so traffic could move normally.
