On February 20, at the headquarters of Tien Phong Newspaper, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund held a press conference to announce the list of 19 excellent nominees for the online voting round of the "Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam" Award in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet - Secretary of the Central Youth Union, President of the Central Vietnam Student Association, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Council for the 2024 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam Award - chaired the press conference.
The award aims to honor young people under 35 years old, with outstanding achievements in 10 fields: Learning, Scientific Research - Creativity, Production Labor, Business - Startup, National Defense, Security and Order, Physical Education and Sports, Social Activities, Culture and Arts, and State Administration Management.
Over the past 28 years, the award has honored 280 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam and 277 Promising Young Faces of Vietnam in various fields.
In 2024, the Organizing Committee received 159 nomination documents from 55 units nationwide, including 3 self-calculation documents. In terms of structure, there are 114 men and 45 women; Kinh ethnic group 144, ethnic minority group 15. Buddhism 3; Catholicism 1. The highest academic title has 3 Associate professors; 21 PhDs; 4 MSc. The maximum age of nomination is 38 years old; the minimum age is 13 years old.
Of which, the field of Education had the most nominations with 38 documents; the field of State Administration Management had the fewest nominations with 1 document.
Journalist Phung Cong Suong - Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, Director of the Vietnam Young Talent Support Fund, Standing Member of the Council - said that the Council voted to select the 19 most outstanding nominations for the online voting round.
Of which, there are 3 areas that the Council selected 3 nominees for each field: Learning, Scientific Research and Culture and Arts. There are 4 areas (National Defense; Security and Order; Physical Education and Sports; Social activities) each field has 2 nominations. There are 2 fields: Production Labor and Business - Startup each field has 1 nomination. In particular, the field of State Administration Management has no nominations.
Among the nominees, many familiar faces appeared, with outstanding achievements in their careers, spreading positive values to the community such as: singer Phuong My Chi, singer Soobin Hoang Son, Miss Huynh Thi Thanh Thuy, player Nguyen Tien Linh...
The online voting round for the nominees for the 2024 Outstanding Young Faces of Vietnam Award is expected to last 15 days, from February 20, 2025 to March 6, 2025.
The organizing committee will hang a banner with a link to the site (https://tainangtrevietnam.vn/) to vote for 10 outstanding young Vietnamese faces on the electronic newspaper system.
After the online voting round, the Council will meet for the second time to select 10 outstanding young Vietnamese faces and promising young Vietnamese faces in 2024.
