In the afternoon of April 11, in Trang Dinh commune, Lang Son province, 2 consecutive drowning incidents occurred on the Bac Khe River, killing 3 teenagers.
According to initial information, at about 2 pm on April 11, two teenagers, B.B.L and Tr. Tr. M (both 13 years old, residing in Khang Chien commune, Lang Son province) went swimming in the Bac Khe River, passing through Doan Ket village, Trang Dinh commune.
During swimming in the river, both unfortunately drowned.
Only about 30 minutes later, at about 2:30 pm on the same day, child Ng. H. L (12 years old, residing in Quyen A1 village, Trang Dinh commune) and 4 friends in the village went swimming in the Bac Khe River, passing through Quyen A1 village, and encountered an accident.
Immediately after receiving the information, leaders of the Party Committee and government of Trang Dinh commune coordinated with the Commune Police force, Area 1 - That Khe Defense Command, Commune Military Command, militia and self-defense forces and local people to organize searches.
Nearly 100 people have been mobilized along with many vehicles to participate in search and rescue work.
By more than 6 pm on the same day, functional forces had found the bodies of all 3 victims and handed them over to their families.
Faced with the above painful incident, the government and functional agencies of Lang Son province continue to advise people, especially teenagers, not to voluntarily swim in areas of rivers, streams, lakes, and waterfalls with large depths and complex flows.
Families and schools need to strengthen management and remind their children to prevent unfortunate accidents.
