On the morning of December 6, Mr. Tran Viet Quang - Chairman of the People's Committee of Quy Nhon Dong Ward (Gia Lai Province) - said that the authorities had found the body of the child in distress on the Ha Thanh River.
On the afternoon of December 5, T.V.M and his friend V.T.K (14 years old, residing in Quy Nhon ward) played volleyball in Group 1 (Quy Nhon Dong ward). While playing, the ball fell into the water and was swept into the Ha Thanh River. The two students used a basket to pick up the ball.
When we rowed out into the middle of the river, water overflowed into the basket and submerged the basket, causing both of them to panic and call for help. A resident discovered the incident, immediately rowed a boat to rescue and brought K. to shore safely. M. was swept away by the water and went missing.
Immediately afterwards, the authorities organized a search. At around 10:00 p.m. the same day, M.'s body was found.
