According to the announcement on November 21 of the People's Committee of To Mua commune, soil, rocks and trees from the mountain slopes continuously overflowed onto the road after many days of humid rain causing traffic congestion from To Mua commune to Doan Ket commune, Chieng Yen, Quang Minh, Suoi Bang areas.
Mr. Vi Van Huy, Vice Chairman of To Mua Commune People's Committee, said: At Km15 and Km17+765, TL101, in Na Cha village from November 17 to 21, the situation of rolling rocks from above occurring continuously, threatening the safety of people and vehicles. The entire route is currently closed to traffic, forcing vehicles to stop or turn around.

The commune has sent forces to put up warning signs, be on duty 24/24 hours and coordinate with the Son La Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board to mobilize all human resources and machinery to handle landslides. The road opening is expected to be slow due to continued bad weather and a great risk of landslides.
The authorities recommend that people absolutely do not enter the landslide area, keep a safe distance of 50 - 100m, and do not stand or take photos. People need to comply with barriers, warning signs and report as soon as they discover more rocks and soil flowing down.
