On July 9, in Pleiku ward (Gia Lai province), Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich, chaired a meeting with representatives of departments and branches to listen to reports on the arrangement of standing units of specialized agencies under the Provincial People's Committee working at facility 2.
Speaking at the meeting, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich emphasized: The organization of a second facility in Pleiku ward after the merger of Gia Lai and Binh Dinh provinces is necessary to ensure the effective presence of state management agencies in key areas.
At the same time, this helps support policy implementation and timely handling of arising issues, contributing to stable and sustainable development.
Representatives of 14 departments and branches presented plans for assigning personnel, arranging facilities and raised a number of difficulties such as: requesting the People's Committee of Gia Lai province to issue new guidance on financial mechanisms and allowances for on-duty staff; renovating old administrative headquarters to meet working conditions; ensuring consistency in handling administrative procedures, avoiding information dissemination between the two facilities.
Facility 2 in Pleiku ward will act as the regional administrative center, ensuring state management activities in the old Gia Lai province, monitoring and guiding the implementation of laws of the central and local governments.
The Provincial People's Committee will receive opinions, complete the arrangement plan in accordance with reality and report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for direction.

After the merger, the new Gia Lai province has a natural area of over 21,550 km2, the second largest in the country (after the new Lam Dong province), with a population of about 3.5 million people. The new provincial political and administrative center is located in Quy Nhon.
After the merger situation is stable, the Gia Lai provincial government conducts a review and proposes to add key communes and wards to focus on infrastructure investment, as a basis to attract investors. At the same time, it opens up new development space, creating momentum and room for development for the next stage.
The province is also urgently speeding up the progress to organize the groundbreaking of key infrastructure projects such as: runway No. 2 and synchronous works at Phu Cat Airport, Quy Nhon - Pleiku Expressway, Hoai My Industrial Park, Phu My Industrial Park and Port...
