Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has issued a decision approving component project 2: Investment in the construction of Binh Tien bridge and road (from Pham Van Chi street to Nguyen Van Linh street).
The Binh Tien bridge and road project includes two main parts. The elevated road (overpass) is about 3.1 km long, 4-6 lanes wide, passing through Binh Tien, Phu Dinh, Binh Dong wards and Binh Hung commune (District 6, District 8 and former Binh Chanh district).
The route starts from Pham Van Chi street, crosses the Tau Hu canal, runs elevated through Phu Dinh ward, crosses the Doi canal, then crosses Nguyen Van Linh street to connect with the National Highway 50 connecting route.

The parallel road section below is more than 3.3 km long, 2 - 6 lanes wide, to serve local traffic and reduce the load on elevated roads.
The total investment for component project 2 is more than 2,915 billion VND, expected to start construction in 2026 and be completed in 2028.

The Binh Tien bridge and road project also has component project 1 on compensation and site clearance with a total investment of more than 3,369 billion VND, expected to recover 21.27 hectares of land and affect 389 households.
Currently, connecting the center of Ho Chi Minh City with the southern regions mainly relies on some roads such as Nguyen Huu Tho, Duong Ba Trac, Pham Hung, National Highway 50... These roads are often overloaded, especially during peak hours and holidays.
With its position as a strategic radial traffic axis, Binh Tien bridge and road will contribute to sharing pressure for existing routes, improving connectivity between the city center and the South Saigon area, Hiep Phuoc, and creating an important inter-connection axis with Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3 and Ring Road 4 in the future.
