National Highway 1 expansion
National Highway 1 section from Kinh Duong Vuong street to the border of Tay Ninh province is nearly 10 km long, is an important western gateway of Ho Chi Minh City.
This road will be expanded to 60 m with 10 - 12 lanes, replacing the existing 6 lanes.
The project will complete the Binh Thuan intersection with a scale of 3 floors. At the intersection of National Highway 1 - Kinh Duong Vuong - Tran Dai Nghia, a 4-lane overpass will be built; and a new Binh Dien bridge with 6 lanes will be built.

The project has a total investment of about 16,285 billion VND in BOT form (build - operate - transfer). Of which, more than 9,600 billion VND from the budget is used for compensation and site clearance. The project is expected to recover land from 2,241 households in Tan Tao, An Lac wards and Tan Nhut, Binh Chanh communes.
The project is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
Expanding National Highway 22
National Highway 22 is a vital traffic route connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Moc Bai international border gate (Tay Ninh province). However, currently the road surface is only 36-40 m wide, and congestion often occurs.
The section of National Highway 22 from An Suong intersection to Ring Road 3, about 8 km long, will be expanded to 60 m with 10 lanes.

On the route, 7 overpasses will be built at major intersections such as: Nguyen Anh Thu, Nguyen Thi Soc - Nha Vuong, Le Thi Ha, Tran Van Muoi - Ba Trieu, Ly Thuong Kiet - Nguyen Van Bua, Nguyen Thi Nuoi and Duong Cong Khi - Le Loi.
The project has a total investment of more than 10,400 billion VND in BOT form, of which the Ho Chi Minh City budget spends more than 6,200 billion VND on compensation and site clearance.
The project is expected to start construction in the second quarter of 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
Expanding Nguyen Van Bua street
Nguyen Van Bua Street is the main traffic axis connecting the Northwest area of Ho Chi Minh City with Tay Ninh province. However, the road surface is currently only 11-14 m wide, while the large traffic volume causes frequent traffic jams.

Ho Chi Minh City will expand this road section from Nga Ba Giong to Provincial Road 9 bridge to a scale of 32-40 m.
The project also builds a new block of Big Bridge and Provincial Road 9 Bridge, each bridge about 58 m long and 17.5 m wide; and expands the existing Provincial Road 9 Bridge.
The project has a total investment of more than 2,421 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget. The project is expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
Expanding the access road to the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway
Currently, the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway is being expanded to 6-8 lanes with a total capital of more than 36,000 billion VND.
To synchronize infrastructure, Ho Chi Minh City will expand two access roads including: Binh Thuan - Cho Dem 9.5 km long and Tan Tao - Cho Dem 3.7 km long.

These two routes will be upgraded to reach a scale of 6 motorized lanes and 2 mixed lanes. At the same time, 3 more overpasses will be built at the intersections of Tran Dai Nghia, Tran Van Giau and Bui Thanh Khiet.
The project has a total investment of about 2,350 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget, expected to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and be completed by the end of 2027.
Expanding Le Van Luong street
Le Van Luong road connecting Nguyen Van Linh Avenue to Tay Ninh province is more than 10 km long, an important traffic axis connecting the South of Ho Chi Minh City with Tay Ninh, but has not been expanded for many years.
On the previous route, there were 4 iron bridges built before 1975. Among them, Rach Dia bridge and Long Kieng bridge have been newly built. Rach Tom bridge was started in July 2025, while Rach Doi bridge has not been deployed.

Recently, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc assigned the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction to urgently prepare, appraise and approve the investment policy for the project to expand this road in April 2026, striving to start construction in the third quarter of 2026 and complete it by the end of 2027.
