On the evening of December 6, the impact of the high tide continued to cause Nguyen Van Linh Street (the area at the foot of Phu My Bridge, District 7 before) to be deeply flooded. According to Lao Dong, about 1 km of the road surface was flooded 15-20 cm, making it difficult for vehicles to move, causing prolonged traffic congestion.
At the foot of Phu My Bridge, trucks and containers move in a row onto the bridge, causing great pressure on the peak hour traffic flow.

People said that this afternoon, traveling was more difficult because vehicles stalled, the water rose rapidly, causing many vehicles to rush to the side of the road waiting for the water to recede.
Mr. Le Van Phong (Phu Thuan ward) shared that this road section is often flooded during heavy rain or high tides. "Yesterday, due to high tides causing deep flooding and making it difficult to move, especially in areas where many large vehicles pass, I was also hit by water on a damp person," said Mr. Phong.
Mr. Le Hoa (residing in Phu Thuan ward) said that he had to take his child early because he was afraid of flooding and traffic jams like yesterday, which would be late for pick-up.
"The high tide caused flooding, causing this artery axis to be congested for a long time. In case any section is deeply flooded, I have to find a way around because I am worried that the vehicle will stall in the middle of the rear container, which is extremely dangerous," Mr. Hoa added.

According to the Southern Hydrometeorological Station, the peak tide in Ho Chi Minh City appeared in the early morning and evening of December 6, forecast to reach 1.75 m at Phu An and Nha Be stations, 1.85 m at Thu Dau Mot station, all exceeding alert level III. At the same time, the Northeast wind of level 6, gusting to level 7 - 8, can cause heavy rain, combined with high tides, increasing the risk of flooding low-lying areas, along rivers, affecting traffic and socio-economic activities.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction said that from the beginning of 2025 to the end of November, the city recorded more than 75 days of high tides exceeding alert level I. The highest peak of the year reached 1.77 m on November 6 at Phu An station. The whole city of Ho Chi Minh City currently has 23 flooded roads when the tide exceeds the warning level; of which the central area of Ho Chi Minh City has 12 flooded spots of 0.15 - 0.3 m, Binh Duong previously had 8 and Ba Ria - Vung Tau previously had 3 spots.
