On November 17, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police said that the unit is synchronizing the camera system at the intersections on National Highway 51 through the area (formerly Ba Ria - Vung Tau area), integrating it with the newly changed traffic light system.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction issued a document announcing the adjustment of traffic organization on National Highway 51 through the area (Ba Ria - Vung Tau area) previously. In particular, cars when changing direction (left turn, right turn, turn around) at the intersection with National Highway 51 must take from the third lane from the road median strip, not on the first lane as before; officially applied from November 17.
In fact, in recent days, traffic through some intersections has completed light signal conversion, which is quite complicated, when many people follow previous habits, without paying attention to following new directional signs and light signals. Many cases are also wondering whether they will be punished if they violate.
Lieutenant Colonel Do Xuan Hoan - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police - said that recently, the situation of traffic order and safety on National Highway 51 has been complicated. Traffic organization as before has conflicts between trucks and two-wheeled vehicles, especially when falling into blind spots. This leads to dozens of traffic accidents and human casualties every year.

Therefore, the authorities and related units have agreed to reorganize traffic to minimize accidents and serious consequences; at the same time, in accordance with the actual situation, aiming to prevent congestion and prevent accidents on National Highway 51 passing through the area.
Reorganizing traffic change direction in the third lane will help trucks and cars have a wider turn corner; reduce conflicts between motorbikes and cars during change direction, especially for trucks.
Traffic participants need to pay attention to directional signals, light signals and comply when participating in traffic. Violations (if any) will still be punished according to regulations.
