The project to repair damaged roadbeds, road surfaces and structures on National Highway 2D, section Km106+100-Km118+765, has a total investment of 60 billion VND, invested by the Yen Bai Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board.
In particular, the construction package for the section Km107+299-Km107+706 and Km109+00 of the project has a length of 2 km, with Dong Tien Company Limited as the contractor with an investment of more than 5 billion VND.
Construction started at the end of November 2024 and is expected to be completed in January 2025.
Once completed, National Highway 2D is expected to have synchronized, modern, regionally connected traffic infrastructure, creating a driving force to attract investment and develop key economic sectors.
At the same time, contributing to improving people's lives and promoting socio-economic development of Yen Bai province.
According to Lao Dong, on December 11, at the project site, dozens of workers and machines were working hard to complete the road on schedule.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (34 years old, Thinh Hung, Yen Binh) said that for many years now, National Highway 2D has been full of potholes and the road surface has sagged.
"When it's sunny, the dust flies everywhere, and when it rains, traveling is like a puzzle for people. If you want to go from the provincial center to the northern districts, this is almost the most convenient and fastest route," said Ms. Xuan.
Mr. Tran Dinh Son (32 years old, Yen Binh town) shared that people are very excited and hope that the renovation work will be completed soon.
"Currently, Yen Bai has a lot of rain, making the roads slippery. The resurfaced road will help people travel more easily," said Mr. Son.
Speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of the Road Maintenance Management Board of Yen Bai province said that the project's progress reached about 35% after 20 days of construction.
"Currently, the investor and contractor are working hard to complete the route as soon as possible, ensuring people's travel before the Lunar New Year," said a representative of the Yen Bai Provincial Road Maintenance Management Board.
