In early June 2024, the Ho Chi Minh road project, Cho Chu - Trung Son intersection connecting Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang, officially started construction.
The route has a total length of nearly 29km. Starting point at Cho Chu (Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen) ending point at Trung Son intersection (intersection with National Highway.2C, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang).

The project is built according to technical standards of a grade III mountainous road with a design speed of 60km/h, with a scale of 2 lanes according to TCVN 4054:205 standard. The roadbed is 9 meters wide, the section passing through Trung Son is 14 meters wide.
According to PV at the starting point of the project through Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen), workers and machinery are being mobilized for construction. A large amount of rock and soil was scraped, peeled, and leveled from a high to low position.
The main road has been leveled and cleared. Workers are constructing tunnels, box culverts, and overpasses No. 1.2. At some locations, the construction unit coordinated with local authorities to relocate technical infrastructure to clear the site.
In Dinh Hoa district (Thai Nguyen), the Ho Chi Minh road is over 12km long, with a land acquisition area of over 34 hectares, affecting more than 700 households.
On March 1, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nong Hong Nham - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Chu Commune (Dinh Hoa District) - said that the Ho Chi Minh Road project passes through 5/6 hamlets of the commune. Phuc Chu is the locality with the largest area of land reclaimed when the project passes through. Up to now, the site clearance work has been basically completed.
"The site has been handed over to the construction unit to implement the project, and the roadbed is being leveled and auxiliary items such as bridges and culverts are being constructed.
Previously, it took a long time to travel to Trung Son, and the road was narrow. When there is a Ho Chi Minh route, it will be very convenient, shortening travel time. Local people are eagerly waiting for the project to be completed," the leader added.
After completion, the Ho Chi Minh route will help synchronize traffic infrastructure. Promote the socio-economic development of the Thai Nguyen mountainous area as well as neighboring localities.
