On the evening of February 27, the working group of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 - Traffic Police Department (CSGT), Hanoi City Police organized a control of drivers of vehicles violating alcohol concentration in the area of Huynh Thuc Khang Street (Dong Da District).

For about 1 hour, the working group stopped dozens of vehicles, but only discovered 4 cases of alcohol concentration violations. Notably, there were 2 cases of high-level violations.
Accordingly, at around 9:00 p.m., Mr. N.B.V (born in 1982, residing in Bac Tu Liem, Hanoi) was driving a motorbike carrying a person behind him. When approaching the location of the working group of the Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 on duty, Mr. V drove the car onto the sidewalk to "take the checkpoint".
However, the working group later stopped the vehicle for inspection. As a result, Mr. N.B.V violated the concentration at 0.821 mg/L of breath (the violation level was twice the highest level prescribed in Decree 168/2024/ND-CP).

For the above violation, Mr. V. will be fined 8 - 10 million VND and have his driver's license revoked for 22 - 24 months, and his vehicle will be impounded for 7 days according to regulations.
Next, the working group stopped to check a man driving an electric motorbike. As a result, this person violated the alcohol concentration at 0.459 mg/L of breath.
Working with the authorities, Mr. T.D.L (born in 1978, residing in Dong Da, Hanoi) - the driver of the electric motorbike above said that he had just sat down to drink 2 glasses of beer with a friend after the Pickleball match.
Mr. L also said that because he was subjective, thinking that traveling at a slow speed on an electric motorbike would be fine.

After being fined, the drivers all realized that their actions were wrong and pledged not to repeat the offense.
"The inspection is carried out seriously and publicly, with no forbidden areas or exceptions.
People are advised to absolutely not drive vehicles while drinking alcohol to ensure safety for themselves and other road users," said Lieutenant Colonel Kieu Van Chung - officer of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3.
