16 million VND seafood meal bill case: Restaurant speaks out

Phu Tho - Representatives of seafood restaurant spoke out after the incident of a young man inviting his girlfriend to eat, not paying the amount of 16 million VND in the bill.

As Lao Dong newspaper reported, on June 25, images of a young man "wandering" at a restaurant, not paying the 16 million VND bill, here after finishing a seafood meal with some girls, spread on social networks.

According to research, the incident occurred at about 10 pm on June 24, at Viet Tri Seafood Restaurant (people often call it 5k grilled oyster restaurant) on Vu The Lang street, Viet Tri ward.

On the afternoon of June 25, in an exchange with reporters, a representative of the above-mentioned restaurant said that the young man's table ordered the most expensive seafood dishes of the restaurant such as: king crab, lobster, sea bugs and some other high-end seafood.

Representatives of the restaurant also affirmed that seafood and dishes at the establishment always publicly announce prices and do not incur any other costs, customers always know the price before ordering.

When the young man arrived, the restaurant could not recognize that he was psychologically abnormal. Because, he was going with girls, including children, like a family.

Along with that, we affirm that we do not know any female friends in that dining table. When the incident happened, we proactively contacted the police agency to clarify the matter" - the restaurant representative shared.

Through initial verification, Viet Tri Ward Police determined that the young man in the incident was named T (residing in Tam Duong commune, Phu Tho province). T's family said that this person had some abnormal psychological manifestations.

Currently, Viet Tri Ward Police have verified T's identity and residence and will coordinate with the police agency where this person resides to clarify his health status as well as related details, as a basis for handling according to regulations.
