According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment (DONRE) of An Giang, from the beginning of the year to December 10, 2025, there have been 106 landslides and subsidence of land banks, river banks, canals and ditches in the province with a length of about more than 5.2km, affecting 72 houses that need to be urgently relocated. Of which, 9 houses were completely collapsed, 13 houses were partially collapsed, the estimated damage is over 12 billion VND.
The most serious landslide in My Hoa Hung commune occurred at 1:00 a.m. on September 4, 2025, on the route from Ut Na culvert to Dau Con market.
The Department has also coordinated with the locality to conduct a field survey recording a length of about 100m and eating about 25m deep into the shore, affecting 2 houses that completely collapsed into the river. On September 18, the landslide occurred again, the jaw hook was inside and the entire wide path was missing, and only about 1-2m was to the people's house. In this situation, the commune has temporarily evacuated people to safety.

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has also requested the Provincial Center for Environmental Resources Engineering to measure, survey, and re-evaluate, thereby having a report on measurement, survey, and assessment and the Department has also reported to the Provincial People's Committee. The province also has a policy to handle it.
The Department has reviewed and coordinated with localities to assess and handle the remaining areas such as Long Kien commune, Hau riverbank area as well as Ha Tien urban center. Apply initial solutions to avoid affecting people's property and lives.
Discussing the problem of landslides in the area, Mr. Vo Van Len - Deputy Director of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of An Giang province - said: The Department of Natural Resources and Environment has coordinated with localities to apply non-constructional solutions as well as works to limit landslides when they occur.

Mr. Len added that the Department has reported and the Provincial People's Committee has issued an official dispatch proposing to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment to implement embankment projects related to landslides. Recently, the Department has reported and submitted a proposal to establish a project to survey, assess the current status and handle riverbank landslides in An Giang province in the period of 2026 - 2030 to have solutions to overcome and handle them in the short term as well as long-term. The Department is proposing a general investigation, survey, and assessment of landslides and landslide risks to find solutions.
