On the afternoon of September 23, information from the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center (TRAMOC) said that in the past 2 days, 2 collisions related to buses occurred in Hanoi City.
Accordingly, on September 21, a collision occurred between bus route No. 33 and a motorcyclist at the Pham Hung - Duong Dinh Nghe intersection. On September 22, bus route No. 64 collided with a garbage truck on Nam Son street.
In order to limit similar incidents and ensure safety for vehicles, passengers and traffic participants, TRAMOC requests subsidized public passenger transport units to strengthen safety assurance solutions.
In which, drivers must strictly comply with regulations and rules of operation on the route and road traffic laws; absolutely do not drive vehicles when there is alcohol concentration, do not use phones or electronic devices while driving and do not smoke on the vehicle.
Along with that, vehicles must be renovated, ensuring quality, cleanliness, safety and minimizing damage during operation. Inspection of technical safety conditions, environmental protection, inspection, maintenance and repair must also be carried out regularly and in accordance with regulations.
TRAMOC requests to only put vehicles that fully ensure technical safety conditions into operation, and at the same time strengthen inspection, supervision and strictly handle violations of regulations and rules on public passenger transport by bus.
TRAMOC's inspection and supervision teams will strengthen inspection and strictly handle cases of bringing substandard vehicles into operation on bus routes under signed contracts (if any).
