On December 21, information from the People's Committee of An Chau commune (Nghe An) said that a traffic accident had just occurred in the area, killing 1 person.
At around 9:00 p.m. on December 20, 3 teenagers (from 13 to 15 years old), all residing in An Chau commune, were riding a motorbike together on an inter-commune concrete road, in the area bordering Dien Loc and Dien Tan (old). When reaching a road with many small alleys, the motorbike suddenly crashed head-on into a small truck running in the wrong direction and turned left into a house.
The strong collision caused 1 teenager to be thrown into the middle of the road, the other 2 students were swept away to the fence along the road.
As a result, K. (15 years old) died on the spot; 2 13-year-old teenagers were seriously injured and taken to Nghe An General Hospital for emergency care. The truck driver was not injured.
At the scene, the motorbike was completely damaged, with many pieces of debris scattered all over the road; the front of the truck was damaged. The road where the accident occurred was more than 6 m wide, without public lighting, mainly from people's houses on both sides.
Initially, the authorities determined that the motorbike carrying 3 people was traveling at high speed, causing the truck driver to not be able to handle it in time. The investigation of the scene did not record any helmets of motorcyclists.
The cause of the accident is being further investigated and clarified by the authorities.
