On June 6, the Military Command (CHQS) of An Bien commune (An Giang) said that the unit had just supported people whose houses were collapsed to overcome the consequences, collect property, dismantle parts of houses that are at risk of continuing to collapse, and at the same time help people stabilize temporary accommodation.
Specifically, on the evening of June 5, after receiving a report about the house collapse of Ms. Thi Chau's household (born in 1972) residing in hamlet 5, An Bien commune, An Giang province, the militia force of An Bien commune quickly arrived at the scene to coordinate with local forces to support the family in overcoming the consequences.
According to initial information, at about 7 pm on the same day, Ms. Thi Chau's stilt house located along the canal suddenly collapsed completely. The incident did not cause any casualties, but damaged many properties and the structure of the house.
Immediately after the incident occurred, the An Bien Commune Military Command mobilized officers and soldiers of the militia and local forces of the hamlet to urgently come to the scene to support the family in collecting property, dismantling house parts that are at risk of continuing to collapse, and at the same time help people stabilize temporary accommodation.
With a sense of responsibility and close coordination between forces, the work of overcoming the consequences was completed immediately overnight. This also shows the pioneering spirit and responsibility of the militia force of An Bien commune in performing the task of disaster prevention and control, search and rescue, contributing to helping people soon stabilize their lives, consolidating military-civilian solidarity in the area.
