As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, at around 9:34 p.m. on May 26, at the subsidence point in the middle of National Highway 3B through Hiep Luc village, Kim Lu commune (Na Ri, Bac Kan), a motorbike driver suddenly knocked down a barrier and plunged into a deep hole along the road.
According to the reporter's records at 3:00 a.m. on May 28, the area around the subsidence point was covered with a corrugated iron roof, warning signs, and people were restricted to ensure safety during the rescue process.
Inside the death hole, rescue forces were still on duty operating a large capacity pump to pump water out of the hole about 10m deep.
Even though it was dark, the rescue team continuously checked the equipment, took turns operating the pump and monitoring the water level in the hole.

Mr. Duong Quang Thai - Key employee, Na Ri District Military Command (Bac Kan) said that the search process for missing people in the death hole is currently facing some problems and difficulties.
"The subsidence point is very large, with a lot of water, rocks and some frog jaw areas below, causing great difficulties for the search.
We have mobilized pumps, but only been able to pump water to a certain level, while the water here is still very deep, making it difficult to push the water up," Mr. Thai added.
Previously, speaking with reporters, Mr. Truong Quang Trong - Chairman of the People's Committee of Kim Lu commune (Na Ri) said that the rescue force is still actively implementing plans to approach deeper into the hole to verify the victim's location.
On the side of Na Ri district, it has proactively informed the road management unit under the Department of Construction to report to the province to consider supporting specialized forces for search and rescue.
At the same time, they directed the fence, sent functional forces to protect the area where the incident occurred and continued search and rescue plans.
