Dien Bien cleans up data of nearly 20,000 vehicles

Dien Bien - Functional forces have reviewed and cleaned up data of nearly 20,000 vehicles.

Dien Bien Provincial Police are focusing on reviewing, verifying, and updating data on nearly 20,000 vehicles in the area, aiming to build a "true, complete, clean, and live" database.

This activity is part of the 100-day general review, verification, and data update campaign on the Vehicle Registration System in 2026.

The Traffic Police Department of Dien Bien Provincial Police coordinated with the Police of 45 communes and wards to review vehicles that have been transferred ownership but have not completed procedures for transferring ownership and changing owners.

The focus of inspection is motor vehicle business establishments, where there are many cases where one owner is in the name of many vehicles but has not carried out procedures for transferring ownership.

The Police force requests establishments to proactively contact customers and guide them to complete name transfer procedures according to regulations.

For vehicles that have been bought and sold but whose owners have not been identified, functional forces make a list and summarize it to the Traffic Police Department for management, serving the search and handling when violations arise.

Along with data review, Dien Bien Provincial Police strengthened propaganda on regulations on vehicle registration and transfer, and at the same time clarified the legal responsibilities of vehicle owners when buying and selling but not transferring ownership.

Standardizing and cleaning vehicle data contributes to improving the efficiency of tracing, investigating, and handling violations; limiting the situation of violation notices sent to old vehicle owners.

This is also a basis for serving digital transformation, improving the efficiency of state management of security, order and traffic safety.
