According to research, this two-seat sports car model has just been successfully traded, although the specific value was not disclosed. The new owner of the car is a businessman from Khanh Hoa - who already owns another Opel GT with a silver exterior.
By adding a second car to the collection, this businessman has become one of the few people in Vietnam who are holding two Opel GT models - a car line considered a design icon of Opel (Germany).
Opel GT is a two-seat sports car with a front-mounted engine and rear-wheel drive. The car is produced through two generations, more than three decades apart. The first generation was introduced to the public as a concept at Paris and Frankfurt exhibitions in 1965, before officially going into mass production in the 1968-1973 period. The car uses an Opel Kadett B chassis, the body is manufactured by Brissonneau & Lotz (France).
The design of the Opel GT was once likened to a "minorized Corvette", with aerodynamic lines and a balanced body ratio. The second generation introduced in 2007-2009, is actually a renamed version of the Saturn Sky - a two-seat convertible model developed based on the Pontiac Solstice and assembled in the US.
Technically, the Opel GT has a steel chassis structure, the engine is reversed behind the front axle to help allocate optimal weight. The vehicle is equipped with a double-wheel suspension, active rear axle suspension, disc brakes on the front wheel and drum brakes on the rear wheel, along with a pure mechanical steering structure.
