At the 8th session, the 15th National Assembly voted to pass the Law on Fire Prevention and Rescue, effective from July 1, 2025.
The Law on Fire Prevention and Control has added more specific and comprehensive regulations on fire prevention and fighting for electricity in daily life, production and business.
At the same time, specifically regulate the responsibilities of organizations and individuals trading in electrical products, equipment and retail electricity units in providing guidance on ensuring safe use of electricity in daily life and production (Article 24, etc.).
Accordingly, the Law stipulates that ensuring fire safety conditions in installing and using electricity for daily life and production such as installing and using electrical wires and electrical equipment in the home must ensure electrical safety requirements according to the provisions of law;
Regularly inspect, promptly repair and replace electrical wires and electrical equipment that do not ensure fire safety; Electrical equipment used in dangerous environment for fire and explosion must be specialized equipment according to the provisions of law.
In particular, the Law stipulates that only electric charging devices for electric motor vehicles that meet national technical standards are allowed to be used. The place to charge an electric motor vehicle in the house must have a solution to ensure fire safety.
At the same time, the area for charging electricity for electric motor vehicles concentrated in the house must also have fire prevention solutions and equip fire fighting equipment appropriately, ensuring standards (Clause d, Article 24.
In addition, the Law specifically stipulates the responsibilities of organizations and individuals trading in electrical products, equipment and electricity retail units.
Accordingly, organizations and individuals trading in electrical products and equipment are responsible for consulting and providing information on the quality and technical specifications of electrical products and equipment in accordance with the purpose of use.
The electricity retail unit is responsible for propagating and guiding on ensuring safe use of electricity in daily life, production and performing other tasks on safe use of electricity according to the provisions of the law on electricity.
