Although the car's starting price was only $175,000 (about 4.3 billion VND), the auction witnessed a dramatic competition, with the winner being famous collector Rick Hendrick.
Hendrick, who owns more than 100 Chevrolet Corvettes, is no stranger to auctioning off early versions of iconic models. He has previously spent millions on the first 2020 Corvette Stingray, 2022 Z06, Z06 Convertible, and E-Ray. His subsequent purchase of the first ZR1 is a testament to his passion for the Chevrolet brand.
More than just a supercar, the 2025 Corvette ZR1 boasts impressive features with a powerful engine that produces up to 1,064 horsepower, surpassing many famous competitors such as the Lamborghini Revuelto and Ferrari SF90 Stradale. Although the actual value of this car is quite high compared to its original price, with its outstanding performance improvements, the ZR1 has quickly attracted the attention of collectors.
What's special about this auction is that all proceeds of $3.7 million will go directly to the American Red Cross. The money will be used to support areas affected by natural disasters.
With its striking features, Hendrick’s 2025 Corvette ZR1 is finished in gloss black, with blue racing stripes and plenty of carbon fiber detailing, giving it a striking appearance. However, given the sheer number of Corvettes in his collection, Hendrick probably won’t be taking this ZR1 on the street anytime soon.
