According to Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Vietnam Health Trade Union, Head of the Mobilization Committee for the establishment of the Vietnam Health Improvement Consulting Association, the establishment of the Association is an important milestone, meeting the needs of comprehensive health care, preventing and controlling non-communicable diseases and improving the quality of life of the people.
The goal of building and developing the Association is to become a strong socio-professional organization, gathering a team of experienced staff and experts in the fields of health, healthcare, psychology, etc. Gathering a team of experts, managing, researching, and teaching enough to provide good advice, helping people have knowledge, skills, change awareness, behavior, build a healthy lifestyle, take care of their own health and the community.
Speaking at the congress, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong said: The Association was established at the present time in accordance with the policies of the Party and State, meeting the requirements of building a healthy Vietnam, where all people are given health care, live long, live well, live happily both physically and mentally; raise awareness of health protection, proactively prevent diseases in the whole society, contributing significantly to promoting the development of a rich, civilized and prosperous country in the new era.
At the same time, create more channels for consultation, criticism, and sharing of experiences and knowledge to contribute to the goal of proactive disease prevention and improving the quality of life for the community.
To promote the role of the Association in the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thi Lien Huong hopes that the Vietnam Health Improvement Consulting Association will accompany the Ministry of Health and health units in caring for and improving people's health such as strengthening coordination with agencies and units in implementing professional activities, promoting the role of consulting, participating in reviewing and giving comments on related legal policies and guidelines according to the provisions of law such as giving comments on policies on grassroots health care, health insurance, and protecting the health of vulnerable groups.
In response to the requirements of developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation, the Association needs to regularly research and innovate, constantly improve professional qualifications, consulting skills and apply new technologies in activities. This is a global trend and an essential solution to improve operational efficiency, meeting the increasingly high demands of the people on the quality of health care.
On the other hand, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with all levels, sectors and localities to bring health knowledge to each family and community; organize national activities and events to spread health messages not only to raise people's awareness of healthy habits but also to help people have an environment to practice; expand cooperation, exchange experiences, promote international cooperation, act as a bridge between members and specialized units, scientific and technical organizations, enterprises, and social organizations at home and abroad according to the provisions of law.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the first term of the 2025-2030 term with 55 members. The Standing Committee consists of 23 members, of which Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thanh Binh - Chairman of the Ministry of Health Trade Union was elected to hold the position of Chairman. Dr. Pham Thanh Cam - former Director of the Department of Organization and Personnel - Central Propaganda Department holds the position of Permanent Vice President. In addition, there are 4 Vice Chairmen.
