On July 27, the "Red Journey - 2025" program took place in Truong Vinh ward, Nghe An province, attracting thousands of people to donate blood, from union members, youth to cadres, civil servants and public employees.
At the end of the program, the organizing committee received 967 units of blood, contributing practically to the treatment of patients in the context of a blood bank in Nghe An being seriously depleted after the peak period of floods.
With the message "Connecting Vietnamese blood flow", the program does not only stop at receiving blood, but also organizes health consultations, propagates birth defects for about 10,000 people and mobilizes 2,000 more people to register to donate blood regularly.
This is one of the highlight activities in the series of events in response to 13 consecutive years of Nghe An participating in the Red Journey, demonstrating the commitment and responsibility of the locality in the national voluntary blood donation movement.
A member participating in the program shared: "The Red Journey does not stop at medical significance, but is also a humane journey, where compassion is awakened, the spirit of national solidarity is strongly aroused".
The atmosphere at the blood donation site on the morning of July 27 was filled with enthusiasm. Many people shared that they donate blood because they have witnessed relatives having to wait for blood every day, even every hour to get their lives back.
At this time, Nghe An Blood Bank recorded record-low reserves, especially at provincial and district health facilities.
In that context, the 967 units of blood received this time are not just a number, but a valuable "life drop", which can save the lives of hundreds of patients in critical condition.
