On the evening of December 4, Da Nang City Police in coordination with the Department of Foreign Affairs (Ministry of Public Security) completed the handover procedures for three Koreans, including Choi M their (born in 1999), Choi Jinwoo (born in 2000) and Seo Jaeseok (born in 1997) to the Korean authorities to return home for investigation. This is a criminal group wanted by the Inter-pol for fraud, organizing crimes and human trafficking.
According to the investigation records, this group operated a transnational love scam ring located in the Bavet complex (adjacent to the Cambodia - Vietnam border). They use deepfake technology impersonating women to approach men, creating trust and then luring them to participate in "payment tours", committing to cover the cost of accommodation, air tickets and refunds after completing the mission.

After successfully luring the victim, the victim was taken from Vietnam or Thailand to Cambodia, where his passport was confiscated, detained and forced to study the script to participate in online fraud. From August to December 2024 alone, the group has appropriated about $1 million.
In October 2025, when discovering the subjects fleeing from Cambodia to Vietnam and hiding in Da Nang, the Immigration Department deployed professional measures, verified and discovered all three staying at a hotel in An Hai ward.
The authorities simultaneously deployed inspections and arrested the subjects. At the police station, all three admitted that they were wanted by Interpol. According to Korean law, the defendants in this case can be sentenced to a maximum of life in prison.
The successful arrest and handover of the international wanted criminal group demonstrates the proactiveness and effective coordination of Da Nang City Police in fighting against transnational crimes, contributing to ensuring security and order in the area.
