According to people's reflection, in the past few months, the area at the turn of Khuat Duy Tien Street (Thanh Xuan Bac Ward, Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi) has seen large piles of garbage, including household and construction waste, polluting the environment and spoiling the urban beauty. Although people have repeatedly reported to the authorities, this situation has not been resolved.
Ms. Le Thi Tuyet (residing in Thanh Xuan Bac apartment complex) said that at first, there were only construction trash sacks. After that, this place became a "black spot" for people to dump household waste.
"The garbage is dumped haphazardly and has become a place for some people without awareness to take advantage of, causing a strong stench in this area," Ms. Tuyet said.

According to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, although there are signs prohibiting dumping, waste is still piled up. At the traffic turning point on Nguyen Xien Street, through house number 216 Nguyen Xien (Ha Dinh Ward, Thanh Xuan District), a giant landfill appeared right on one of the main roads of the Capital.
According to local people, illegal dumping often occurs at night and in the early morning. In addition, because the garbage collection unit has not been able to clean up for a long time, the amount of waste is getting larger and larger, seriously affecting the living environment.

The chaos and pollution not only occurred at the above points but also appeared in many other areas along the median strip of Ring Road 3. Although the local government always tries to promote dumping garbage in the right place, some people lack awareness and still take advantage of it when it rains and at night to dump garbage into the environment.
People's awareness plays a top role in environmental protection. In addition, local authorities and related units need to strengthen inspection, supervision, and strict handling of violations, while mobilizing human resources to promptly collect waste, restore urban aesthetics and a clean living environment for people.
