On July 23, the leader of the People's Committee of Suoi Dau commune (formerly Cuoi Cat commune) confirmed that he had worked with Nha Trang - Cam Lam Expressway Investment Company Limited (under Son Hai Group) and the people who reported being affected by the impact of vibrations during the construction of the expressway.
The confrontation between local authorities, people and representatives of Son Hai Group to clarify the people's complaints about cracked houses.
At the meeting, the leader of Suoi Dau commune said that the local viewpoint is to protect the legitimate rights of people and businesses operating in the area.
During the implementation of the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway project, the authorities of Suoi Cat commune (old) and Suoi Dau commune always mobilized people to understand and agree with the state's policies and guidelines on compensation and resettlement support.
Regarding the people's petition, the leaders of Suoi Dau commune proposed that the Ho Chi Minh Road Management Board (Ministry of Construction) take the lead, requiring Son Hai Group to implement 2 contents.
That is an agreement with the people or hiring a consulting unit to assess whether the house cracks are due to highway construction or not.
According to statistics from the People's Committee of Suoi Dau commune, by the end of August 2023 - more than 3 months after the expressway was put into operation, 15 households reported cracked houses.
However, Son Hai Group believes that people's simultaneous petitions after a long time of the project in use are unusual and untrue.
According to Son Hai Group, if affected during the construction phase, people have immediately reported it. The company representative also said that out of 60 households that have petitioned for initial compensation support, 32 households have withdrawn their applications.
