On February 26, Mr. Lo Van Thao - Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district - said that the locality has temporarily suspended the construction of the district administrative area project.
This project was approved by Nghe An Provincial People's Council in 2023 and is in the compensation phase, with Con Cuong District People's Committee as the investor. The capital source for project implementation comes from the provincial and district budgets.
The project includes 6 packages, of which 2 packages will be selected contractors in the form of open domestic bidding, online. These packages include the entire construction and equipment part (nearly 87 billion VND) and consulting on construction supervision and equipment installation (1.7 billion VND). The remaining packages will be selected by contractors in the form of a shortened bidding period. The project is expected to be built on an area of over 3 hectares in Lien Tra village, Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district.
Implementing Conclusion No. 126 of the Politburo, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district has asked for opinions and the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee agreed to temporarily suspend the project.
Previously, the project of the office of the District Party Committee - People's Bloc, Do Luong District Party Committee (Nghe An) with an investment value of more than 70 billion VND has also temporarily suspended construction.
On February 25, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a document requesting the temporary suspension of the implementation of new projects and works, repairing and renovating working headquarters of agencies and organizations under the management of district-level administrative units throughout the province. This requirement is to ensure the practice of thrift and combating waste in the process of implementing the plan to innovate and reorganize the apparatus.
