Dong Nai takes care of social housing for workers and civil servants
Dong Nai province's population is about 3.2 million people, of which the number of union members and workers according to union statistics is about 700,000 people and have a great demand for housing, but the supply is still very limited.
According to Mr. Ho Van Ha - Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee, the province is making efforts to achieve the goal of building 10,000 social housing units in the period of 2021-2025 and by 2030, building at least 50,000 social housing units.
In addition, about 1,670 provincial-level civil servants of Binh Phuoc province are expected to need to arrange working and housing headquarters in Dong Nai after the merger of the province. Therefore, the province is inspecting and reviewing social housing projects in the area, screening cases of using the wrong subjects for recovery.
On May 4, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and Bien Hoa City to review civil servants and public employees of the unit who are renting or leasing houses at social housing projects in Bien Hoa City. In case there are houses and there is no longer a need to use social housing, they should voluntarily return them, giving space to those who really need them. In case of calling for voluntary house return, having taken further measures but still detecting cases of using social housing to the wrong subjects, the province will resolutely reclaim and take appropriate measures.
The People's Committee of Dong Nai province also requested the Department of Construction to take further measures to handle more than 366 cases of reporting absence when the inspection team went to work.
Concluding the inspection of social housing projects in Bien Hoa City by the Department of Construction, there were 366/914 cases subject to inspection that were reported as absent despite previous announcements, causing difficulties in inspection work. The authorities also discovered many apartments using the wrong subjects.
For the 4 block social housing apartment project in Quang Vinh ward, Bien Hoa city, the investor is Dong Nai Housing Trading Joint Stock Company, and discovered 23 apartments that were not suitable for use; At the Tam Hoa Ward Social Housing Project in Bien Hoa City, there were 2 apartments that were not suitable for use (there was 1 case of being rented out many times, with factors for being rented to foreigners), 41 apartments were left empty when inspected; The Buu Long Ward Social Housing Project, Bien Hoa City had 1 case of using the wrong subject.
Prepare well the working headquarters and public housing for civil servants after the merger of provinces
Regarding the expected number of about 1,670 civil servants at the Binh Phuoc provincial level working in Dong Nai, the leader of the Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee said that he had directed the Department of Construction to conduct an inspection of housing projects in Bien Hoa City, in case of detecting the wrong subjects, resolutely withdraw them to arrange accommodation for civil servants.
In addition, it also called on cases that already have new housing to give social housing to people who are really in need.
Currently, the province has 2 sources to meet the housing needs of these civil servants, including housing projects being implemented in Bien Hoa city, such as the Long Binh Tan social housing project in Long Binh Tan ward, with a scale of nearly 1,100 apartments; the social housing project in Phuoc Tan ward, with a scale of about 1,200 apartments and a high-rise apartment project in Tan Van ward, more than 1,100 apartments, a total of about 3,400 - 3,500 apartments. Dong Nai province will also repair the working headquarters into a temporary official residence to serve civil servants.
Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc said that when implementing the organizational arrangement, many provincial-level civil servants from Binh Phuoc will come to Dong Nai to work. The province needs to prepare well the working headquarters and public housing to serve this force of civil servants.
Dong Nai has just started construction of CC1 apartment building under the Social Housing Project in Bao Vinh ward, Long Khanh city. The project has a construction area of about 3,700m2, including 3 blocks of 4-storey buildings with a total of 228 apartments.
Vice Chairman of Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Ha affirmed that this is a project of practical significance to celebrate the country's important events, while demonstrating the province's determination in concretizing the policy of developing social housing, taking care of people's lives - especially low-income people, workers and people in difficult circumstances.
