On June 2, in an exchange with reporters, Ms. Nguyen Thi Lieu (Thuan Thanh ward, Bac Ninh province) expressed her joy and happiness after nearly half a year living in a new house.
Ms. Lieu is a worker at But Thap Garment and Fashion Joint Stock Company (Thuan Thanh ward), in difficult circumstances. Her husband is not in good health and has no stable job. Ms. Lieu is the main breadwinner in the family, and the living expenses mainly depend on income from her sewing work. Her husband and she have two young children.
Previously, her whole family lived in a dilapidated old house. Every time there was a storm, she was very worried about the safety of her family. For many years, she longed for her own house, more solid and spacious so that she would no longer have to be afraid every time there was a storm, but because she did not have money to save, she did not dare to think about building a house.
In 2025, she was determined to build a new house. From the sponsorship of Vietnam Industrial Park Group Joint Stock Company through the Golden Heart Charity Fund (Vietnam General Confederation of Labor), Ms. Lieu's family was supported with 50 million VND to build a new house. Leaders of the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation went directly to hand over the support money to her family. This support money has added resources and determination for her. After a period of construction, the house was inaugurated in early 2026.
Since having a new house, I feel secure working and earning money to raise my children. Every time it rains and storms, I no longer have to worry about anything unsafe happening to my family as before," Ms. Lieu shared. She thanked the support of philanthropists and the Trade Union organization for helping her realize her dream that seemed very difficult to become reality.
Statistics from the Bac Ninh Provincial Labor Federation show that in the past term, the "Trade Union Shelter" Fund of the Provincial Labor Federation has supported 122 union members and workers with funds for new construction and repair of houses from the Trade Union Shelter Fund with a total amount of 4.715 billion VND.
