On July 31, Ms. Thanh Nguyen - Executive Director and Happy Inspiration Director of Anphabe Joint Stock Company - said that according to the company's research, more than 78% of businesses in the world have applied AI to at least 1 business function in 2024.
In Vietnam, 17% have not yet deployed AI applications; 16% have not yet applied AI, expected in the next 1-2 years; 35% have AI applications but only in some departments; 23% deploy and apply AI at an average level; 9% deploy and apply AI widely, deeply in many aspects.
On the part of workers, 56% of workers are exposed to and apply AI in work, of which 77% of workers use technology and AI in weekend work.
Ms. Thanh Nguyen emphasized that the challenge for workers is no longer limited to being replaced by AI, but also being replaced by better colleagues. Nowadays, businesses are gradually prioritizing efficiency and practical working capacity instead of seniority.
People who know how to take advantage of technology and AI to improve work productivity will create higher value, without having to worry about being replaced. In the new era, skills are a new currency for workers, said Ms. Thanh Nguyen.
Ms. Thanh Nguyen commented that workers need to proactively foster professional skills, while proactively self-study important soft skills such as critical thinking, technology, solving complex problems, leading changes, communication to influence, and cooperation.
In addition, workers can be interested in occupations that are being invested in by businesses or hired by outsiders for training such as HRBP specialists (iningers - business partners), data science engineers, data analysis specialists, business relationship managers, etc.
According to research by the World Economic Forum, in 2023, technology has reallocated jobs, with the part of work handled by humans accounting for only 40%, 25% being completely operated by machines and the remaining proportion being due to the coordination of both. However, by 2030, this ratio will change, it is expected that humans will hold 25% of tasks in work and only 37% of the work of machines will need "cooperation" with humans.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) can make 85 million people lose their jobs, but at the same time will also create 97 million new jobs. This will benefit half of the number of workers affected by AI, while the rest will be negatively affected such as having their salary reduced or losing their job immediately.
