On January 2, the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union (VTC) held a conference to evaluate the results of implementing the Work Coordination Regulations in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Minister of Construction attended the conference.
According to the report on the implementation results of the Coordination Regulation between the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union, in 2024, the Vietnam Construction Trade Union actively coordinated with the Ministry of Construction and units under the Ministry to implement many outstanding contents and activities.
Vietnam Construction Trade Union coordinates with the Ministry of Construction to direct the organization of emulation movements to carry out the political tasks of the Ministry of Construction and improve working conditions, increase income for cadres, union members, and workers, and make achievements to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Construction Industry (April 29, 1958 - April 29, 2024); 95th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2024) and major national holidays.
Responding to the emulation movement launched by the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union, trade unions at all levels in the industry have coordinated with professionals to launch 440 campaigns and emulation periods; 2,591 topics and initiatives have been applied, with an estimated value of nearly 101 billion VND; 326 emulation works and products have been recognized.
The Vietnam Construction Trade Union guides and directs its affiliated unions to coordinate with professional organizations to implement grassroots democracy regulations, conferences of civil servants, conferences of workers, and dialogues at the workplace.
In 2024, 80.3% of units will develop grassroots democracy regulations; 94.2% of units will organize conferences for civil servants; 80% of enterprises will organize conferences for workers and 84% of enterprises will organize dialogues at the workplace. In many units, workers will enjoy higher benefits and policies than those prescribed by law.
Trade unions at all levels have organized many meaningful and practical activities attracting more than 46,000 people (including more than 37,000 female union members) to participate; the total amount spent on activities is more than 21.3 billion VND; 414 female employees in difficult circumstances were supported with an amount of 308 million VND...
At the Conference, the Vietnam Construction Federation also raised 13 key contents of coordination between the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Federation in 2025 and 7 recommendations for the Ministry of Construction.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi - Minister of Construction highly appreciated the results of coordination between the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union as well as the agencies under the Ministry. This result has contributed positively to the organization, implementation and completion of the political targets and tasks of the industry.
The Minister proposed the following contents to be implemented in the coming time: Focus on seriously implementing the work of arranging and streamlining the apparatus; focus on researching and organizing emulation movements to strive to successfully complete the goals and tasks of the 2025 plan; promote initiatives and technical improvements among union members and workers, associated with timely commendation, rewards and encouragement; coordinate in organizing the Patriotic Emulation Congress.
Along with that, develop plans, organize visits and encourage workers to celebrate Tet to ensure that all workers have a happy and safe Tet; strengthen inspection and supervision work to contribute to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers...
