Strengthening the organization of grassroots activities
At the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union, many measures to develop union members have been implemented synchronously.
Mr. Ha Minh Vi - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Industrial Parks Trade Union - said that the unit regularly coordinates closely with the Provincial Industrial Parks Management Board to grasp the investment situation of project implementation, the production and business activities of enterprises, the labor situation in newly established and operating enterprises without a Trade Union organization to develop plans to develop union members, establish grassroots trade unions (CDCS).
In addition, promote propaganda on the Labor Code, the Trade Union Law, promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots trade unions. Thereby, workers clearly understand the position, role, functions, and tasks of the Trade Union organization, and the benefits of participating in the Trade Union organization so that they can voluntarily participate.
The trade union is also flexible in approaching workers, including approaching outside the enterprise, at boarding houses... to propagate and mobilize workers to join the trade union; at the same time, guiding and supporting the establishment of a grassroots mobilization committee and organizing congresses to establish grassroots trade unions in accordance with regulations.
The Trade Union of Industrial Parks of the province also increased the organization of activities towards the grassroots level, towards workers such as organizing cultural and sports activities to improve cultural and spiritual life to attract and gather workers; activities to protect workers' rights...
Since the beginning of the year, the Trade Union of Industrial Parks of Bac Giang province has newly established 7 grassroots trade unions and received 1 grassroots trade union from the Bac Giang City Labor Federation, admitting 896 new union members; admitting 10,961 new union members at 12 enterprises with grassroots trade unions.
Admitting 124,515 new union members
According to the Provincial Federation of Labor, from 2021 to present, trade unions at all levels in the province have established 288 grassroots unions (including 257 enterprise grassroots unions), admitting 124,515 new union members.
To date, the Provincial Federation of Labor has directly managed and directed 1,889 grassroots unions (an increase of 63 grassroots unions compared to 2023), with 305,472 union members (an increase of 28,653 union members compared to 2023, reaching 114.6% of the target assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor); coordinated with central industry unions to manage 25 grassroots unions, with 19,125 union members.
Determining that the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions is an important task of the Trade Union organization, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has set specific targets to strive for. Accordingly, by 2028, strive for the whole province to have 400,000 union members; most enterprises with 20 or more workers will establish a union organization. Every year, complete and exceed the targets of developing union members and establishing grassroots unions assigned by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor. By 2033, strive for the whole province to reach 500,000 union members; 100% of enterprises with 20 or more workers will establish a union organization.
Mr. Nguyen Van Canh - Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said that to achieve the above targets, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor requires trade unions at all levels in the province to link the task of developing union members, establishing grassroots trade unions with innovating content and methods, improving the quality of trade union activities; focusing on implementing tasks related to protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of workers, and caring for the interests of workers.
In addition, trade unions at all levels need to identify the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions as a key, regular and continuous task of the Trade Union organization; there must be specific solutions, clearly assign the responsibilities of the collective and each individual, link the results of implementing the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions with annual emulation and reward evaluation...
