The professional training conference for union officials of wards, communes and special zones was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation on July 25. The conference was attended by full-time union officials, chairmen of 139 ward, commune and special-zone unions in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the opening of the conference, Mr. Phung Thai Quang - Vice President of the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation - said that the work of training, fostering, and retraining union officials is extremely important and is a regular, continuous work. To perform well the functions of a trade union organization, trade union officials need to be trained and fostered to have knowledge and skills to perform.
Due to the wide and complex socio-economic conditions and characteristics of Ho Chi Minh City, each union cadre requires appropriate qualifications and knowledge to perform the task.
Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Labor Federation organizes training and equips union chairmen of wards, communes and special zones with basic knowledge on legal documents related to trade unions, labor laws, social insurance, employment and labor relations in enterprises in accordance with Vietnam's laws and international commitments to trade unions.
During the 2 days, full-time union officials and chairmen of 139 ward, commune and special-zone unions in Ho Chi Minh City will be equipped with knowledge and experience in the Trade Union Law, the Law on Social Insurance, the Labor Code; Some issues on trade union organization and activities in the new situation; Professional skills and basic skills in organizing and implementing trade union activities.
