Connecting meal
At Huong Hoa, Dakrong, Cam Lo Trade Union clusters (Quang Tri province), grassroots trade unions will simultaneously organize Trade Union Meals for union members and workers.
At the end of May 2025, the Trade Union of Camel Vietnam Rubber Company Limited (Lao Bao commune) organized a Trade Union Meal in response to Workers' Month and Labor Safety and Hygiene Action Month in 2025. On this occasion, the Provincial Trade Union presented 25 gifts, each worth VND500,000. The company's grassroots union also presented 10 more gifts to support union members and employees with serious illnesses, work-related accidents or those in special circumstances.
After the gift-giving ceremony, the company's leaders and 503 union members and workers sat together in a warm atmosphere. Stories about work and life are shared openly, contributing to the connection of the labor collective. At the dining table, there is no longer a gap between leaders and workers, but only sharing, encouragement and understanding.
At Chaichareon Viet - Thai Company Limited (Lao Bao commune), the shift meal at the factory at noon every working day is always filled with laughter. Mr. Tran Tan Huy - Chairman of the Trade Union of Chaichareon Viet - Thai Company Limited said that the company has invested in quality shift meals, and this activity has been maintained for many years.
At the end of July 2025, Chaichareon Viet - Thai Co., Ltd. and Camel Vietnam Rubber Co., Ltd. are expected to organize a Union Meal. This is an opportunity for workers and business leaders to gather, eat together, and strengthen their feelings.
Union meals become a regular activity
Mr. Hoang Van Tuan - Deputy Head of the Trade Union Work Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor said that the Huong Hoa, Dakrong, and Cam Lo Trade Union Clusters currently have 67 grassroots unions with 2,565 union members. After many surveys and mobilizations, the Provincial Federation of Labor and related units have agreed that the grassroots trade union with over 20 union members will organize a Union Meal simultaneously during the peak week from July 25 to 28, 2025.
"We aim to ensure that 100% of grassroots unions in the cluster are qualified to participate, and all workers in difficulty are cared for and supported. Each meal in the Union Meal is worth from 50,000 VND to 100,000 VND, depending on the conditions of each unit. Union members and workers in especially difficult circumstances will receive support gifts right at the program" - Mr. Tuan said.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Federation of Labor, the Provincial Federation of Labor has a plan to organize the 2025 Trade Union Meal, and the Trade Unions at all levels are actively mobilizing businesses to accompany and support funding for long-term operations.
Not just a one-time event, we hope the Union Meal will become a regular activity. At the end of July 2025, the Trade Union Meal program is associated with the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Trade Union (July 28, 1929 - July 28, 2025) and the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2" - Mr. Lap emphasized.
The Provincial Federation of Labor informed that the Trade Union Meal not only takes care of material life but also creates a spreading effect on the social responsibility of enterprises and the close attention of the Trade Union organization to employees. In the context of workers' lives still facing many difficulties, living expenses, high work pressure, cozy meals, small but sincere gifts become even more valuable.
