Many solutions to develop union members

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Van Canh, Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor, said that the Bac Giang Provincial Federation of Labor always identifies the work of developing union members, establishing grassroots unions, and improving the quality of activities as particularly important tasks of vital importance to the trade union organization.

Mr. Nguyen Van Canh shared his experience that in order to promote the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions, the Provincial Federation of Labor has identified and focused on implementing many solutions. The Provincial Federation of Labor has completed the Steering Committee for the development of union members, established grassroots unions; organized a count of the number of enterprises and workers working; developed a plan for the development of union members and the establishment of grassroots unions; promoted propaganda and mobilization; and increased the support of higher-level unions to lower-level unions.

Along with that, the Provincial Federation of Labor closely coordinated with local Party committees, authorities and relevant departments and branches, including requesting the Department of Planning and Investment and the Provincial Industrial Park Management Board to provide additional opinions to enterprises when granting investment licenses; advising the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to issue a decision allowing the Provincial Federation of Labor to inspect enterprises that have not strictly complied with labor and trade union laws; and including criteria for compliance with labor and trade union laws in the consideration of emulation and rewards for enterprises.

In 2024, the province established 96 grassroots trade unions in enterprises; 3 grassroots trade unions; recruited 36,168 union members, reaching 124.9% of the planned target. However, due to the dissolution of 41 enterprise trade unions with 2,817 union members, the total number of union members in the province is currently 305,472, an increase of 28,653 members compared to 2023...

In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang, member of the Party Central Committee and President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, requested representatives of the provincial and municipal labor federations attending the conference to propose solutions, recommendations, and ways to organize the implementation of the work of developing union members and establishing grassroots trade unions to complete the tasks of 2025, especially when the theme of activities in 2025 is determined to be "Focus on developing union members; participating in building a clean and strong Party", practically welcoming the Party Congresses at all levels.
