Clause 1, Article 26 of the 2025 Law on Teachers stipulates as follows:
Retirement regime for teachers
1. The retirement age of teachers is implemented according to the provisions of the Labor Code and other relevant legal provisions, except for the cases specified in Clause 2 of this Article and Article 27 of this Law.
2. Teachers in preschool education institutions, if they wish, can retire at a lower age than the retirement age of workers under normal conditions but not more than 5 years old. In case of having paid social insurance for 15 years or more, the pension percentage due to early retirement will not be reduced.
Accordingly, the retirement age of teachers is implemented according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Code and other relevant legal provisions, except for the cases specified in Clause 2, Article 26 of the 2025 Teachers' Law and Article 27 of the 2025 Teachers' Law.
Article 169 of the 2019 Labor Code stipulates the retirement age:

2. The retirement age of employees in normal working conditions is adjusted according to the roadmap until reaching 62 years old for male employees in 2028 and 60 years old for female employees in 2035.
From 2021, the retirement age of employees in normal working conditions will be 60 years and 3 months for male employees and 55 years and 4 months for female employees; after that, it will increase by 3 months each year for male employees and 4 months for female employees.
3. Employees with reduced working capacity; working in particularly arduous, toxic, or dangerous occupations or jobs; working in areas with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions may retire at a lower age but not more than 5 years older than the age prescribed in Clause 2 of this Article at the time of retirement, unless otherwise provided by law.
4. Workers with high professional and technical qualifications and some special cases may retire at a higher age but not more than 5 years compared to the age prescribed in Clause 2 of this Article at the time of retirement, unless otherwise provided by law.
According to Clause 1, Article 27 of the 2025 Law on Teachers, teachers can enjoy retirement at an older age, including teachers with the title of professor, associate professor or doctoral degree and teachers working in a specific specialized field or field, specifically: No more than 5 years old for teachers with a doctoral degree; no more than 7 years old for teachers with the title of associate professor; no more than 10 years old for teachers with the title of professor.
