Ms. Nguyen Thi Cham (a garment factory worker in Bac Ninh province) has 2 children, this year entering grade 5 and grade 9. Like many other worker families, expenses for children at the beginning of the new school year always worry her. "Recently, I had to spend 1 million VND on textbooks for the two children.
In addition, I also pay 700,000 VND in health insurance/child. However, the next payments will be more after the parent meeting" - Ms. Cham said.
Ms. Cham's income is 15 million VND/month; her husband's is 7-8 million VND/month. With a total income of 21 million VND/month, she has to spend 5 million VND/month to pay interest when borrowing from a bank to buy social housing. She also had to send money back to her hometown to support her grandparents and grandparents (all of whom were sick).
According to her calculations, when the school year started, she had to spend more than 1 million VND per month on expenses for her children; if she had extra classes, it was 2 million VND/month.
On the occasion of preparing to open the new school year 2025 - 2026, the Trade Union of Luxshare-ICT Company Limited (Vietnam) in coordination with the Trade Union of Thuan Thanh Ward organized a program to present 50 meaningful gifts to students in difficult circumstances who strive to improve their studies at Mao Dien Secondary School and Mao Dien Primary School No. 2 in Thuan Thanh Ward.
At the program, the Trade Union of Luxshare-ICT Company Limited (Vietnam) organized a presented of 50 gifts to students in difficult circumstances who have made efforts to improve their studies in the two schools on the occasion of the opening of the new school year 2025 - 2026, each gift worth 700,000 VND. The program not only brings joy and timely encouragement to students but also contributes to spreading the spirit of humanity, social responsibility and solidarity between businesses and local communities.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung - Chairman of Thuan Thanh Ward Trade Union - said that this is a very meaningful activity, helping to encourage the spirit of families in many difficult circumstances before the new school year.
According to the Bac Ninh Provincial Federation of Labor, this unit has been giving 50 gifts from the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund (each worth 1 million VND) to children of workers in difficult circumstances before the opening of the new school year.
This is a meaningful activity, helping the children to ease their difficulties, contributing to encouraging the spirit of the children of workers as well as their families.
