Trade unions join forces to eliminate 15 temporary and dilapidated houses in Lam Dong

Lam Dong - Southern Power Corporation donated 900 million VND to support 15 ethnic households in Dam Rong district to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses.

On June 20, Mr. Tran Nhat Duy - Chairman of the Trade Union of Lam Dong Power Company - said that the electricity industry has just supported 15 disadvantaged households in Dam Rong district (Lam Dong province) to build houses.

Through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Lam Dong province, each household is supported with 60 million VND, with a total cost of 900 million VND contributed by Southern Power Corporation and its staff, union members, and workers.

The households receiving support are all ethnic minorities in Da Tong, Da Long, and Lieng Srong communes, currently living in temporary houses, dilapidated houses, or without houses.

This is a practical activity in response to the emulation movement Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide in 2025 launched by the Prime Minister, Mr. Duy emphasized.

Ms. Cil K'Thau, Lieng Trang 1 village (Da Tong commune), shared her joy when she was about to move to a new house with her husband and three young children.

Previously, her family lived in an old, dilapidated wooden house, hot in the dry, humid season and unsafe when it rains and is windy.

With 60 million VND in support from the electricity industry, her family contributed an additional 15 million VND and was supported by the villagers during the working day to build a new, spacious house.

"I am very grateful to the electricity industry, local authorities and the people for helping my family have a safe and clean place to live," Ms. Thao said emotionally.

Mr. Tran Nhat Duy added that the Electricity Trade Union will continue to accompany the locality in the work of eliminating temporary houses, contributing to building a sustainable community.
