As a delegate attending the 14th Congress of the Vietnam Trade Union for the term 2026 - 2031, after listening to the directing speech of General Secretary and President To Lam at the solemn meeting on the morning of June 4, Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep - Chairman of the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. - said that he was very touched to see General Secretary and President To Lam have very deep, frank and realistic assessments and comments on the activities of trade unions, especially grassroots trade unions and the lives of workers and laborers.
General Secretary and President To Lam pointed out the difficulties of workers today, and also gave suggestions and directions for the activities of trade union organizations in the coming time, including grassroots trade unions.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that grassroots trade unions must be strongly innovated, considering grassroots levels as the deciding area for the vitality of trade union organizations, and cannot let grassroots trade unions be just places to organize movements, collect union fees, and distribute gifts on holidays and Tet. Grassroots trade unions must be places where workers come to when they have problems with contracts, wages, insurance, labor safety, working conditions, housing, family life and daily essential issues.
Therefore, in the coming time, the Trade Union of PouYuen Vietnam Co., Ltd. will also coordinate and negotiate with businesses to create time and support for union members and workers to have time to study to improve their qualifications, skills, higher labor productivity, and better product quality, thereby ensuring jobs, receiving higher salaries and incomes, and accumulating savings. Grassroots trade unions and businesses will also coordinate together to care for and take better care of the children of union members and workers.
Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep also hopes that all levels of government will coordinate with businesses to take better care of the health of union members and workers, have policies and regulations so that union members and workers have more rest time to regenerate health and work, produce, and be more quality and efficient. Only then will businesses develop well and sustainably; union members and workers be attached to the business.
We will strive for grassroots trade unions to be the first place workers come to when they have problems, as directed by General Secretary and President To Lam," Mr. Cu Phat Nghiep said.
