Special attention to teachers and students in disadvantaged areas
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duan - Chairman of Hue University Trade Union (Vietnam Education Trade Union) - said that along with caring for union members and workers of the school, over the years, Hue University has always paid attention to charity and social work. The school's trade union pays special attention to teachers and students in remote areas and island areas with many difficulties and shortages.
In the 2017-2023 term, the Hue University Trade Union and Emulation Bloc No. 1 (Hanoi National University Trade Union, Hue University Trade Union, Thai Nguyen University Trade Union, Da Nang University Trade Union, Trade Union of the Ministry of Education and Training Agency) contributed to the construction of a teacher's official housing for Pham Kiet High School (Ba To District, Quang Ngai Province) worth 150 million VND; built a clean water project and a teacher's official housing for Tran De Secondary and High School (Tran De District, Soc Trang Province) worth 150 million VND; built a official housing for Dak Na Boarding Primary - Secondary School, Dak Na Commune (Tuong Mo District, Konh Province) worth 150 million VND - P. Nguyen Duy said.
According to the Chairman of the Hue University Trade Union, the school's Trade Union has coordinated with the Vietnam Education Trade Union to organize a health care program, distributed free medicine and gifts (medicines, medical supplies, water purifiers), scholarships for more than 300 cadres, teachers and students of kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools in disadvantaged areas in A Luoi district, Thua Thien - Hue province with a total value of more than 200 million VND (2017); organized visits, early examination and screening for gynecological cancer for 185 teachers and supported giving gifts to teachers in some disadvantaged communes of Tan Bien district, Tay Ninh province (2018); directed the Trade Union of the University of Medicine - Pharmacy, Hue University and joined the Vietnam Education Trade Union to organize consultation, provide early treatment, provide medicine, and supplies to teachers and teachers in the district (90 million VND) and teachers in the district (90 million VND) for teachers and teachers in the district (90 million VND) for the year of cancer treatment.

The Hue University Trade Union also supported the construction of a public housing project for teachers of A Lu Primary and Secondary Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities (Nghai Tro village, A Lu commune, Bat Xat district, Lao Cai province) with an amount of 400 million VND.
If I had more money to support
Sharing with reporters, the Chairman of the Hue University Trade Union said that in recent years, the unit has organized many meaningful activities such as visiting and giving gifts to policy beneficiaries, Heroic Vietnamese Mothers; giving gifts to celebrate the founding day of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22), War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27), Vietnam Doctors' Day (February 27), etc.
In the area, the Hue University Trade Union is interested in social charity organizations such as the Association of the Blind, the Association of victims of Agent Orange, etc.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Duan shared: Although not large in material things, the gifts from union members and workers of Hue University carry a strong spirit of sharing. We are happy to help, but also worry about having more resources to support more. So this journey will continue.
