Trade unions focus on dialogue and collective bargaining
In the context of an increasingly developing market economy, maintaining stable and harmonious labor relations is a key factor for sustainable business development. In Quang Tri, dialogue and collective bargaining are focused on by trade union levels, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights of workers.
Up to now, the whole province has had 426 grassroots trade unions signing collective labor agreements (TƯLĐTT), in which many clauses are more beneficial than the provisions of law. These TƯLĐTT not only regulate salaries and bonuses but also expand many welfare regimes such as meals, difficulty allowances, travel support, housing construction, childcare, improving skills and training officials.
At VTJ Toms Textile and Garment Co., Ltd., Mr. Le Nhat Tien, Chairman of the grassroots Trade Union, and the Trade Union Executive Committee have proactively coordinated with company leaders to organize periodic dialogue sessions and Employee Conferences. These dialogue sessions help resolve workers' questions related to salaries, bonuses, allowances, social insurance, health insurance, unemployment insurance regimes, working conditions, occupational safety and health and other welfare regimes.
In particular, to bring more benefits to workers, Mr. Le Nhat Tien and the Trade Union Executive Committee chaired the signing of collective labor agreements with many beneficial clauses. Such as workers being guaranteed 13th month salary, Tet bonuses up to 2.5 months salary; having attendance allowances; support for improving skills; separate policies for female workers and workers raising young children. In particular, the trade union has proposed building a "milk extraction and storage room" at the workplace, this is a humane model, helping female workers feel secure in their work. In addition, many other support policies such as phone bills, travel expenses, difficulty allowances, rewards for workers' children... are also maintained regularly, contributing to improving workers' lives.
To have beneficial terms, from the guidance of the superior trade union, we have grasped information from the workers to understand their thoughts. After that, we will persuade business leaders to listen to the workers' voices, and then come to the agreements to be signed" - Mr. Le Nhat Tien shared.
Improving welfare, stabilizing labor relations
According to the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation, collective labor agreements are consulted with employees before signing and passing the Employee Conference, ensuring transparency and consensus. In addition, the trade union also proactively supervises the implementation of collective labor agreements, coordinates inspections of enterprises, supports the construction of cultural institutions, organizes sports and cultural activities, and provides training to improve skills for union members. Thanks to this, the rights and working conditions of employees have been significantly improved, reducing disputes and illegal strikes.
A survey by the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation at 105 grassroots trade unions and 700 workers shows that 100% of workers participate in contributing opinions to build collective labor agreement content and enjoy benefits according to agreements. This is proof of the trust and attachment of workers to the Trade Union organization and effective coordination with employers.
Mr. Nguyen The Lap - Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation - affirmed the role of the Trade Union in negotiating, signing and implementing collective labor agreements is essential. "We always focus on directing and supporting grassroots trade unions to ensure the legitimate rights of union members and workers, while maintaining stability in labor relations" - Mr. Nguyen The Lap said.
Thanks to the guidance of the Quang Tri Provincial Trade Union, grassroots trade unions have coordinated with business owners to sign collective labor agreements in Quang Tri, not only meeting legal regulations but also improving welfare, improving material and spiritual life, contributing to building a fair, transparent, stable and sustainable working environment. Grassroots trade unions and officials of the Quang Tri Provincial Trade Union have demonstrated the effective role of representing and protecting workers' rights, and at the same time being a solid bridge between workers and businesses, towards the common development of the locality.
