On October 31, Dien Bien Phu Ward Trade Union held its 1st Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Attending and directing the Congress were Mr. Tan Minh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, Chairman of the Dien Bien Provincial Federation of Labor; and 90 union members who are official delegates.
Dien Bien Phu Ward Trade Union was established and put into operation on July 1, currently has 42 grassroots trade unions with over 3,420 union members.
During the term, trade unions at all levels mobilized over 2.3 billion VND to visit and support workers in difficult circumstances. There have been 3 "Union Shelters", 3 Great Solidarity Houses built, giving hundreds of gifts on the occasion of Workers' Month, holidays, Tet and supporting union members affected by natural disasters.
For the 2025-2030 term, Dien Bien Phu Ward Trade Union determined to continue to innovate the content and methods of operation; improve the capacity of the trade union staff; perform well the function of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and workers...
The Congress also set a target that each year, 100% of grassroots trade unions organize conferences for cadres and civil servants; 80% of enterprises with trade unions organize conferences for workers and sign collective labor agreements; during the new development period, at least 300 union members will be established, with 2 or more grassroots trade unions...
Speaking at the Congress, Mr. Tan Minh Long hoped that each union member and employee should strive to overcome difficulties, actively study, improve qualifications, innovate content and methods of operation to meet the requirements of tasks in the new period.
The Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor also suggested that the Ward Union continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, taking union members and workers as the center.
In addition, it is necessary to proactively coordinate with the government and employers to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of workers; promote the patriotic emulation movement, build a strong, brave and dedicated team of union officials.
The Congress passed Decisions to appoint the new Executive Committee consisting of 11 comrades (1 comrade defective) and the Inspection Committee of 3 comrades (1 comrade defective).
Comrade Nguyen Quoc Hoang holds the position of Chairman of the Dien Bien Phu Ward Trade Union for the 2025-2030 term; at the same time, appointed 8 delegates to attend the 13th Congress of the Dien Bien Trade Union.
