Strengthen dialogue to protect rights
From September 2024 to February 2026, the Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation will preside over the research task to clarify the role of the Trade Union organization in the process of dialogue, negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements. One of the key contents of the research is to analyze and evaluate the current situation of Trade Union work related to dialogue, negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements in the province in the period 2021-2024. Thereby, pointing out the achieved results as well as limitations that need to be further overcome.
The reality at Thang Long pressed board factory, Bac Dong Hoi Industrial Park shows the clear effectiveness of promoting the role of the Trade Union. Here, direct dialogue between business leaders and employees is carried out regularly, many collective labor agreements have been signed that benefit employees, helping them feel secure in working and attached to the business for a long time.
Ms. Mai Thi Hanh - Chairwoman of the grassroots Trade Union of Thang Long Production Tap Factory said that before building the agreement, the Executive Committee of the Trade Union organized a widespread consultation from employees. The content of the agreement focuses on practical benefits such as salaries, overtime pay, travel and housing support.
Proposing solutions to improve quality
Based on a survey at 105 businesses and 700 workers, the research group has proposed many solutions to improve the quality of collective labor agreements in the direction of harmonizing interests between parties.
The Trade Union organization continues to play a core role in advising on organizing periodic dialogues between business leaders and employees, especially during Workers' Month or appropriate times. Focus on commending and rewarding collectives and individuals with achievements in collective dialogue and negotiation activities, creating motivation to spread throughout the system.
Mr. Phan Thanh Lan - Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial Labor Federation - said that the goal of the task is to clarify the position, role, and function of the Trade Union organization in dialogue, collective bargaining, signing and implementing collective labor agreements. In the coming time, Trade Union levels will promote propaganda and guidance to improve the quality of agreements, organize annual evaluations and classifications, and develop agreement templates for businesses to easily apply.
The Trade Union will coordinate with functional agencies to strengthen inspection, examination, and supervision of the implementation of legal regulations related to dialogue, negotiation and signing of collective labor agreements. After 18 months of implementation, the research task has been completed according to plan, receiving positive recognition and evaluation from many businesses in the area.
This result further affirms the role of the Trade Union organization in caring for and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers, contributing to promoting stable and sustainable production and business activities, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
