Ho Chi Minh City - Many voters who are workers hope that candidates when becoming National Assembly and People's Council deputies will pay attention to salary policies and social housing.

From early morning on March 15, many workers in Ho Chi Minh City went to vote for National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Phat, a driver at Thu Duc Gas Joint Stock Company, said that because today is still his working day, he went to the election early in the morning and then went home to work.

According to Mr. Phat, the candidates for the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels are worthy, but due to the election regulations, he carefully considered and selected the most worthy candidates to elect.

Mr. Phat hopes that candidates when elected as National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will pay more attention to issues of people's lives, jobs, and wages of workers.

Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Cam Hoang, a worker at Viet Tien Garment Company, who went to vote at the polling station of Hoang Yen 3 Kindergarten, Linh Xuan ward, said that she temporarily resides in Linh Xuan ward and this is the 3rd time she has voted for National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Ms. Hoang, currently she and many workers still have to rent boarding houses to live and work, and the wages of workers are not high.

We hope that candidates when becoming National Assembly deputies will pay attention to policies to increase salaries and income for workers. For female direct workers, the retirement age of only 55 is appropriate, so I also hope that the National Assembly deputies of the 16th term will pay attention to the issue of the retirement age of workers," Ms. Hoang said.

Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy - Head of the Kindergarten Trade Union, Hoang Yen 3 Kindergarten, Linh Xuan Ward, Ho Chi Minh City - said that the whole school has 48 officials and employees and 100% are union members.

Along with that, propose education development policies, including paying attention to and creating conditions for workers to send their children to public kindergartens more often,” Ms. Thuy said.

Before the election day, the locality regularly organizes propaganda about the meaning of the election to businesses and boarding houses with many workers. Right on the morning of March 15, many workers exercised their rights and obligations to vote.
