Ms. Vu Thi Hung, a garment worker at T&C Garment Co., Ltd. (Ninh Binh), believes that age is not a decisive factor in the capacity or income of workers. The important thing is that each worker must constantly learn, improve their skills and maintain a positive attitude in work.
This year 47 years old, Ms. Hung currently has an average income of 11-12 million VND per month. In some months, her income reached over 15 million VND.
My average salary is about 11-12 million VND, some months over 15 million VND. Working hours are only about 9.5 hours per day, not too much overtime as people think," Ms. Hung shared.
According to female workers, high unit prices or favorable stages can help increase income, but this is only a part. More important factors are diligence, hard work and the ability to maintain stable productivity throughout the working process.
When you focus and try, the number of goods completed in the same period of time will be more. The income from that also increases without necessarily having to stay overtime for too long," Ms. Hung said.
Another secret that Ms. Hung pays special attention to is constantly learning and expanding professional skills. In addition to the main job of squeezing notebooks, she also learns many more steps such as sewing one needle, two needles and other techniques.
Ms. Hung said that she is not afraid to learn from managers, colleagues, and even seek more knowledge and experience on professional groups and social networks.
Knowing that many stages have many advantages. When goods run out in one stage, I can switch to other jobs to maintain income. When I can do many machines, many stages, the team leader is also more confident and can prioritize assigning suitable jobs," Ms. Hung shared.
Besides skills, Ms. Hung also believes that the spirit of supporting colleagues is a factor that helps maintain the productivity of the whole team.
In the production line, there are many times when some stages are congested. When proactively helping each other, work is resolved faster and overall productivity is also ensured.
When I encounter difficulties and colleagues support me, when everyone needs me, I should also be ready to help. With good coordination, work will be much more convenient," Ms. Hung said.
Agreeing with this view, Ms. Mai Thi Dao - a worker at T&C Garment Co., Ltd. said that in many garment enterprises today, workers' income depends heavily on output. Therefore, to have a good salary, workers need to continuously improve their skills and maximize working time.
In my work, I have to be diligent and try my best to produce as many goods as possible. Even when encountering stages with low unit prices, if the quantity of goods is large, income can still be guaranteed," Ms. Dao said.
According to Ms. Dao, working attitude also directly affects productivity. When encountering difficult product codes, workers should not be discouraged or refuse, but need to proactively find ways to learn to complete the work.
Female workers also believe that it is necessary to minimize private conversations, snacking or using phones during working hours, because these habits easily disrupt work and affect productivity.
Meanwhile, exchanging professional experiences with colleagues and managers is necessary. According to Ms. Dao, groups and forums about the garment industry are also a useful learning source for workers.
I regularly participate in groups to learn how to sew faster and make it easier to operate. When I encounter difficulties, I also share them for experienced people to support," Ms. Dao said.
