2 shelters hand in hand
On August 15, the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor (DOLF) organized the handover of 2 Trade Union Shelters to union member Tran Thuy Kieu (under the Trade Union of Quoc Te Seafood Company Limited) and union member Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong (under the Trade Union of Sa Dec Grass Garment Company Limited).
The handover ceremony was attended by Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Head of the Industrial Parks Trade Union Department, representatives of the two companies' Trade Unions and local authorities.

The new house of union member Tran Thuy Kieu has an area of 56m2, solid structure, corrugated iron roof, brick floor, total cost of 180 million VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Dong Thap Branch has supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by family and relatives.
Ms. Kieu's family of 4 people has no land for cultivation and is renting a 24m2 house. With a monthly salary of 7 million VND, her husband works as a freelancer and earns 3 million VND/month, both of them have a hard time raising children of school age. Therefore, the dream of having a new, spacious house for Ms. Kieu and her husband is very distant.

The new house of union member Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong has an area of 48m2, with a total cost of 180 million VND. Of which, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund - Dong Thap Branch supported 60 million VND, the rest was contributed by family and relatives.
Ms. Phuong's family of 6 people used to live in a cramped house of more than 40 square meters. Ms. Phuong works as a lathe worker earning 6 million VND/month, her husband is a freelancer with unstable income, her mother-in-law is unable to work and often sick. Ms. Phuong's family has 3 children who are in school and do not have land for cultivation, so life is very difficult.

At the handover ceremony, Ms. Huynh Thi Tuyet Vui - President of the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor informed that supporting the construction of the Trade Union Shelter not only helps union members have a stable place to live and work with peace of mind, but also contributes to the locality in implementing the goal of eliminating temporary houses and improving the material and spiritual life of workers. This is an activity of profound humanitarian significance, clearly demonstrating the role, responsibility and affection of the Trade Union organization for union members and workers.

This is the motivation for me to continue to strive to work and raise my children well.
Union member Nguyen Thi Kim Phuong was moved: "The new house has been my long-standing dream. Thanks to the help of the Union, my family now has a spacious place to live, no longer worried about the reversal of the wind and rain."
It is known that these are houses in the "100 Trade Union Shelters" Project donated by the Dong Thap Provincial Federation of Labor to union members with difficult housing circumstances; to celebrate holidays in 2025, especially to celebrate Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.
