Ms. Truong Thanh Thuy - President of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - said: The Provincial Federation of Labor has mobilized enterprises to set up welfare booths at enterprises with preferential prices to serve the Tet shopping needs of union members. Directing the Trade Unions at all levels to organize many activities to take good care of union members and workers in difficult circumstances on the occasion of Tet.
The programs have created a joyful, exciting and warm atmosphere of Tet and created more opportunities for union members and employees to access and use quality services, products and goods at good prices. Thereby, demonstrating the concern of the Party Committee, the government and the Trade Union for union members and employees with difficult circumstances in particular; practically encouraging union members and employees to strive to excel in labor, production and work.
The Chairman of the Kien Giang Provincial Federation of Labor added: In 2024, 24 units and enterprises were mobilized to sign and implement the Union Welfare Program with many quality and affordable products and services to serve the needs of shopping, consumption, sightseeing, and relaxation... During the year, nearly 25,000 union members and employees used the services and products, saving union members an estimated 2.5 billion VND.
In order to practically care for union members in difficult circumstances during the Lunar New Year 2025, since November 2024, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Federation of Labor has developed a plan to take care of union members and workers with the motto "All union members and workers have Tet".
The Provincial Federation of Labor coordinated with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and vendors to support 2,500 union members to buy gifts on the online "Union Tet Market" with a total support value of 1.25 billion VND; coordinated with the Provincial Women's Union, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Kien Giang Province, and Kien Giang Construction Investment Consulting Group Joint Stock Company to organize a "Union Tet Market" with 20 discount booths (5-49% discount) for union members and 1 booth for free medical examination and medicine distribution. The total value of goods is expected to be over 1.5 billion VND, saving union members and employees over 300 million VND.
Mr. Do Thanh Tho - Kien Giang Mechanical Company - shared: "I am very happy that the workers are cared for and looked after during Tet like this. I am very grateful to the Union and leaders at all levels for helping me and other workers have a warmer and more complete Tet."
Ms. Dinh Thi Hang - an employee of Teasung Company - said: "During Tet, I received gifts from the company. The Trade Union organized many programs for workers and employees and received gifts, vouchers, and product discounts. I also bought some items for this Tet holiday such as cakes, jams, dried fish, and rice. Going to the Trade Union Tet market makes me very happy and excited, and I feel less tired at work, and work better."
