Towards union members and workers in difficulty
The Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company, Bien Hoa 2 Industrial Park, Bien Hoa City has just announced to support 3,000 disadvantaged workers (phase 2) on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 with a support level of 1 million VND/case.
According to the company’s union, this is a source of support from the Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee, supporting union members and workers who have lost their jobs due to difficulties in business, having to reduce production, stop operations, dissolve… and have not found new jobs. In addition, union members and workers whose contracts have been suspended, who have stopped working without pay, whose number of working days has been reduced, and union members who have had work-related accidents or serious illnesses… are also cared for by the unions during Tet.
Previously, the Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company presented 7,000 gifts on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025 to disadvantaged workers with support levels ranging from 300,000 VND to 1 million VND/person.
Mr. Dinh Sy Phuc - Chairman of the Trade Union of TKG Taekwang Vina Joint Stock Company - said that in order to encourage workers in difficulty, with the support from the higher-level trade union and the company's board of directors, the company's trade union supports union members and workers in difficult circumstances.
The grassroots union of Pousung Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province) also gave 18,000 Tet gifts to union members and workers on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025. Accordingly, each worker received a gift worth 300,000 VND including cooking oil, sugar, seasoning powder... The total value of the gifts is 5.4 billion VND.
The Trade Union of CiBao Company Limited (Suoi Tre Industrial Park, Long Khanh City) presented 6,000 Tet gifts to union members and employees of the company. Each gift was worth 470,000 VND/gift, including essential necessities, with a total value of over 2.8 billion VND.
4 key activities to take care of Tet for union members and workers
According to the Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Dong Nai will focus on 4 key activities including: Organizing the Tet Sum Vay program, the 2025 Trade Union Tet Market, organizing vehicles to pick up union members and disadvantaged workers to return to their hometowns to celebrate Tet, and cultural and sports activities to serve workers.
The highlight of the program is the “Tet Reunion Train - Spring 2025” which will support 1,000 one-way train tickets for union members and workers in difficult circumstances to return home for Tet. The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor will support 92 air tickets and 350 round-trip train tickets for union members and workers to return home for Tet and return to work.
The Trade Union Tet Market program is held at many locations across the province and large industrial parks such as Bien Hoa, Long Thanh, Nhon Trach and Trang Bom to serve workers shopping at preferential prices...
Dong Nai Provincial Federation of Labor also plans to visit and give gifts to union members and workers who are unable to return home for Tet at 6 boarding houses in Bien Hoa City and Trang Bom and Vinh Cuu districts... Each boarding house will receive a gift worth 2 million VND and gifts will be given to workers in difficult circumstances from the provincial budget.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Dong Nai province is expected to have over 700,000 union members and workers being taken care of for Tet with a total budget of about 450 billion VND. Of which, the budget of trade unions at all levels is about 380 billion VND, the province's budget supports 30 billion VND for 30,000 workers in difficult circumstances and the socialized budget from enterprises supports grassroots trade unions with 40 billion VND.
Dong Nai's high Tet bonus is 823 million VND/person.
On January 6, the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Dong Nai province said that it had compiled a report on the 2025 Lunar New Year salary and bonus of nearly 1,300 enterprises employing over 880,000 workers in Dong Nai. Accordingly, this year the average Tet bonus of employees in Dong Nai is higher than in 2024. At foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises, the average bonus is nearly 11 million VND/person, the highest is 823 million VND/person, the lowest is more than 5 million VND/person.
